Dear Thomas,
I don't know how long you've been "here" , but clearly not long enough.
That was rude, I'm sorry but I have lost my patience.
Haw and you both stated that:
> the main Ubuntu site has *never* redirected to local mirrors for
> downloads on ubuntu.com
Then these referrals - and tens, if not hundreds of thousands more -
could have come from a parallel reality:
> "GET
> /mirrors/pub/ubuntu-releases/20.04.1/ubuntu-20.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso
> HTTP/1.1" 200 2770321150
> "https://ubuntu.com/download/desktop/thank-you?version=20.04.1&architecture=amd64"

This system has worked like this since at least 2015, I remember it
clearly because that's why I registered my mirror as a release mirror in
2018, and when I was "just" a user, that's exactly how I downloaded the
image file a countless times ( I was auto redirected to a local mirror
from the ubuntu download website.).

If I don't have to I don't want to be a ccTLD mirror, Haw brought this
up in response to the question of why there is no traffic on my mirror
for iso's. Then I thought that if the problem cannot be solved any other
way, I'd like to sign up as a mirror for hu.releses.ubuntu.com.
In addition, I reported the bug on github as Haw requested/suggested, to
which there was no response, but I see that others have already reported
this problem for almost six months with similar results.

I - and earlier futzel on github - have reported a problem that affects
the whole https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+cdmirrors and iso distribution
system, I'm really sorry for that...
What I don't understand is, what do you use/need the cd mirrors for
then? (rhetorical question)
If the team don't wanna fix this problem, then don't fix it, but please
let's not waste each other's time with childish nonsense and untrue
statements.
From my behalf I consider the "discussion" closed, and apologies for the
useless noise to those who are on the list.
Cheers,
Peter
