Problem with a archive.ubuntu.com server?

Hello!

Sometime between midnight and 8am New York time, it appears that our
mirror's sync (via ubumirror program) from one of the hosts answering
archive.ubuntu.com requests ended up with a large chunk of the mirror to be
deleted (at least a large chunk of universe).

Did anyone else experience the same, and if so any idea what the cause was?
