In this case, "No such file" is misleading messages, I think that 
your mirror server has not valid internet connection.

Please check,

$ wget http://lk.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu//dists/intrepid-updates/main/binary-i386/Packages.gz

is worked in your mirror-server?
