universe size and daily-build

  I've two questions:

  How much could be the size of universe (sources and just i386)?

  Why the daily-build, sometimes have dirs .1, .2, ... like:

* 20050908.1/
  * 20050908.2/
  * 20050908.4/
  * 20050908.5/
  * 20050908.6/
  * 20050908/
