[ubuntu-marketing] Submission for "I am Ubuntu"

I have been actively thinking about how best to record a video myself for
the project since Sunday. I've been thinking of what environment to set
myself in when recording too. Since there are only 75,000 people that share
my accent and just 2,500,000 people in my country I've been thinking that I
really should represent my country-folk for Ubuntu. Recently thanks to
winter, there's been some snow & frost around so I've been thinking should I
set it in a snowy wonderland or should I wait until the environment is more
normal for my area i.e. not as much snow? Then I've been thinking, where
best to situate it. Should we have videos say in the garden, at work, at
college/school, in the forest, near the river, by the rugby fields etc? Then
I was thinking, should we go hip & cool like Apple, or should we have normal
people in normal clothing just like Micro$oft's ad campaign?
Also as recently suggested what about the wording? Should we restrict
ourselves to just English as well? Should it be,
Hello my name is Chris and I am Ubuntu. Or perhaps it could be "Chris ydy
f'enw i a dwi'n Ubuntu"?
Or perhaps Hi, I am Chris & I am a student that uses Ubuntu. Hi I am Chris,
I come from Wales and I use Ubuntu. etc.
We should underline what structure to use before we actually set out any
further plans. Would using other languages on the other hand further enhance
the Ubuntu (humanity) message? Also the ending of the video
ad/collage/campaigns, what will the ending part be like? Just a simple logo
& url to ubuntu.com or a further explanation or a short little message in
text? Perhaps on the website you could hold a poll/vote or even try to set
one up via this mailing list. Just some food for thought.
