Vista worries lead IT pros to consider Linux, Mac alternatives
http://www.networkworld.com/news/2007/111607-vista-worries.html

Excerpts:

"[A] survey, conducted by King Research and commissioned by systems
management vendor Kace, asked 961 IT professionals this month about
the perceived impact of Vista on IT organizations"

"Ninety percent [...] said they have concerns about migrating to
Microsoft's Vista operating system and more than half reported they
have no plans to deploy Vista at this time."

"44% of respondents have considered non-Windows operating systems,
such as Linux and Macintosh, to avoid the Microsoft migration."

"9% of those [... are] already in the process of switching and a
further 25% expecting to switch within the next year"

"In terms of alternatives, Macintosh leads the pack of operating
systems most likely to be deployed in place of Vista, with support
from 28% of survey respondents. About one-fourth said they would opt
for Red Hat Linux, with SUSE Linux and Ubuntu each garnering 18% of
the vote. Another 9% cited other Linux operating systems and 4% were
unsure."

So based on that...

44% * 9% * 18% = 0.7% of IT organizations are switching to Ubuntu right now
44% * 25% * 18% = 2% more will switch to Ubuntu within the next year
