How about creating a separate mailing list for java related talks or
development?

No offence, but sincerly your talks are just noise to many people including
me, and we need every now and then to check the ML to see what's going on
and it turns out to be just some off topic discussions, you don't even use
proper subjects!

In my opinion, this mailing list should only be used for linux and free
software related talks, or at least, the dominant theme should remain such.

People who follow many mailing lists  + personal and professional load are
more sensitive to the signal-to-noise ratio.
