Hey everyone,
Last night we all sat down and had a very productive discussion about
how to move this project forwards and how to resolve some outstanding
conflicts of vision.
The result is that the UCLP will be no longer a project, instead it will
be "Ubuntu Learning" an umbrella group of multiple projects all involved
with teaching Ubuntu in various scenarios. The three projects that have
spun out from our one project are as follows:
Ubuntu Learning Materials project, lead by me and it involves writing
and editing course material into a set format using bzr+lp+asciidoc.
We'll be providing material to other projects and we count as a central
place for production.
Ubuntu Educators, a group focused on getting Ubuntu centric lessons and
courses into existing school authorities. This project is lead by
cprofit.
Ubuntu Learning Classrooms, lead by pleia2, this is a simple project
that takes courses and plans irc and loco teaching sessions.
All projects will continue to talk to each other and provide material to
each other, so I'm looking forward with working with everyone in the
common irc channel and this mailing list. I also hope that the changes
in names and teams won't disrupt any of our existing contributors as we
move over.
Lets get to work guys!
Best Regards, Martin Owens
