Jocelyn,
Hello, My name is Chris Crisafulli and I am a member of the Ubuntu LoCo
Community Council. Recently it has been brought to the Council's attention
that your team has been neglected for quite some time. Several Lebanese LoCo
Members have contacted us and we would like to try and help iron out this
issue of neglect.
Currently you are one of two administrators of the Ubuntu Lebanon Team, and
listed as the Team Owner. I have chosen to contact you as a courtesy to give
you a chance to explain why things are stagnate within the team, and to see
if we can try to come to terms with where the problem lies.
I personally spent a couple of hours the other day and discovered a few
discrepancies within the Lebanon Loco:
1. There has been zero official meetings lead by yourself in quite sometime,
by official I mean scheduled meetings at regular intervals that are held in
order to communicate with the LoCo any correspondence that you are receiving
from the LoCo Council on the LoCo Contacts Mailing list.
2. There are several pending membership requests (10 to be exact at the time
of this e-mail), dates ranging from 2009-06-10 12:54:17 EDT to 2010-04-24
08:32:59 EDT. This should never happen in any LoCo Team, one of the Team
Leader's primary responsibility should be to ensure that requests to join
the LoCo's are processed within hours and days (maximum), not weeks, months,
and years (as is the case now).
3. There have not been any team wide Ubuntu Related events, no Ubuntu hours
or any other team building events in order to encourage and strengthen the
Lebanese LoCo. Instead, concerns were raised by members of the Lebanon LoCo
that you have hosted other events, some of which lead to the adoption of an
alternate Open Source OS, which directly conflicts with the goals and
interests of the team.
4. Launchpad doesn't even point to ubuntu-lb at lists.ubuntu.com as the proper
team mailing list.
I have copied the team mailing list on this e-mail, part of the goal of
community should be transparency, and so I have cc'd the mailing list to
ensure they are included, not to embarrass you or anyone else, but to give
hope to the rest of the team that soon all of this will be behind them and
they can begin concentrating on events, and team building, and advocacy
instead.

Thanks for your time.
