Follow this and you can remove the remaining two steps. You can even set
Urdu in the Keyboard Layout switcher Applet.

I can edit your script and do the changes myself. But I think you should
learn it yourself. It will come handy solving various problems you may come
across while using GNU Linux.

If you like more trouble solving how about adding the keyboard layout
switcher to a user's panel?
