Dear Mugunth,

The PC at Sri Ramadoss's home used for Ubuntu testing and the broand band internet connectivity for it are contributed by Samarpanam.

Ramadoss also educates us on Ubuntu and encourages us to take tution centre to small kids in Slum Clearance areas around house hold area.

Not only he encourages us he also does that himself. Every Saturday and Sunday as of now, seven kids come to his home and he teaches them on Computers based on Ubuntu. I believe its Edubuntu.

All the necessary things like Boards, Print outs and contributed by Samarpanam. We have taken even steps to Marketing Ubuntu with existing Computer vendors.

We recently conviced Shradha Marketing Solution, Chennai. They are a new brand of Intel Based PCs. It comes at around Rs 9000. Though the PC by default comes with Windows. They will now supply Ubuntu also together in Chennai as add on. http://theenterprise.co.in/ is the brand. And Sharadha Solutions is marketing its products in Chennai.

They will be giving Ubuntu CD to wherever they sell their PC. Ramdas is even trying to create a seperate mailing list to support User's request. We are approching other Vendors also. We are taking care of burning of Ubuntu CDs. Those CDs will carry the respecting Company's Logo and Ubuntu Tamil Team's Logo.

I do not have a slightest of hesitation using that. Our expierience in field work the people to whom we have projected the Ubuntu Tamil Team do not even showed the slightest is a proof of it.

What opinion other members have are Kanal Neer. Our experience and field work is a proof of it. People see our work not these aspects of Logo etc., When they like the work we do they join us. That the Truth. we are proving it through our actions. I do not want to fight it through words.

You can have Samarpanam to Ubuntu Tamil Team is just like how Canonical is related to Ubuntu.

As TRV had felt we too wanted this to be a translation team's mailing list and hence refrained from posting directly other issues. We agree with TRV that such posting with divert the focus on Translation work. We are indeed discussing in other mailing lists and weekly gathering of ours all other things barring translation for which this group is dedicated.

There is huge representation of Arunthathiar (those who stich chappels) around 300-400 families in Perambur. They are the poorest of sections of society. We are setting up a Library there in a month's time. We plan to encourage them. We plan to have FOSS related books there than the proprietory ones. We plan to assist students there doing their B.E., in their project work.

There are other actions of us which if u desire I will put out.
