Handleiding ook in boekvorm!

Hallo vertalers,
Het wordt nu echt serieus. Lees onderstaand mailtje over de voortgang.
Zoals je ziet lijkt het mij iets veiliger nog even te wachten met het 
uitgeven in boekvorm omdat ik denk dat nog niet alle fouten verbeterd 
zijn. Als we eerst de pdf publiceren kunnen we gebruikers de gelegenheid 
geven foutmeldingen naar onze lijst te sturen. Ook heb ik de pdf naar 
een aantal van jullie gestuurd met het verzoek deze op fouten te 
controleren. Dat kan enige tijd duren.
Het is ook mogelijk te wachten met zowel pdf als boek tot we het sein op 
groen zetten (zie mailtje hieronder), maar daar ben ik geen voorstander 
van (zie uitleg hierboven). Als iemand van jullie daar anders over denkt 
hoor ik dat graag.

Doen we het volgende (in deze volgorde):

  1. De tekst op de wiki nog uitbreiden (ik zal er ook nog naar kijken)
  2. Afwachten tot het document online staat op ubuntu-manual.org 
<http://ubuntu-manual.org>
  3. De tekst met link naar ubuntu-manual.org <http://ubuntu-manual.org> 
op de website zetten.
  4. De handleiding verder promoten op forum, wiki, prikbord, etc

1. ok, we hebben nog even de tijd. We kunnen hier ook iets zeggen over 
de handleiding in boekvorm zodra we hierover een besluit hebben genomen 
(wachten of niet).
2. Hierover houd ik jullie op de hoogte (hangt ook van jullie wensen 
hieromtrent, wachten of niet, af)
3. De link is niet nodig. Ik zal de tekst, als die af is, naar Kevin 
toesturen.
4. Jaaaaa, allemaal meedoen hoor. Zoveel mogelijk promoten (zodra hij 
uitgegeven is).

Thanks!  I'll add these to the repository.

Have you been editing the po file directly?  Or have you been making
your edits via Launchpad?

Can you give me an overview of your workflow on editing the manual?
(I want to ensure I don't overwrite your work accidentally somehow.)

Absolutely!  Once you're ready, let me know and I will upload a
print-ready copy to lulu.com so people can order actual printed books.

I haven't had any time to look over the PDF thoroughly yet, but I want
to address the points you raised earlier:

Yeah, the tool we use for converting the translations to LaTeX format
(po4a) likes to put the line breaks in different places.  Normally
this isn't a problem, but I was trying to be sneaky in the credits
section of code and the line breaks are actually important.  But it's
easy to fix. Since I have your credits.tex file, I can take care of
this for you.

I'll follow your lead on this.

For the previous translations (including the original English), we've
released the final PDFs and the printed book at the same time.  But
there's no reason that we must do this.

We could mark this PDF as a 'release candidate' or something if you
prefer, so that your readers will know it may still have some bugs.
Then when you're ready to release the final PDFs and printed book we
can do that.

Alternatively, we could release the PDFs and the printed book at
different times.  I'll let you decide.
