You have been subscribed to a public bug:

This is a translation error. I am using the British English (en_GB)
translation. The problem is in the gnome-applets-2.0.po file.

In the preferences dialog for the Gnome weather applet, the option for
degrees celsius (°C) is listed as "Centigrade". This is an obsolete
term; the correct term is "Celsius".

The history section of the Wikipedia article on the celsius scale has
some information:

https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Celsius#History

The default used by Gnome is actually already correct; the translation
file changes it to the wrong term.

** Affects: language-pack-gnome-en-base (Ubuntu)
