I agree about the possible ambiguity. But is "Bin" the most
universally understandable alternative? Some others are:
- "Rubbish bin"
- "Trash can"
- "Garbage disposal"
(Funny how each of these words is both a verb and a noun!)
Then there's always "recycle" ...
