Guys, First of all, Telcom uses a CDMA network and all the mobile services use GSM. Their technologies are different. I have been using Ubuntu 8.10. So, I suggest that u use the modem on any other computer and see that it is working. If it is functioning ok, then u can check your settings. Otherwise, Ubuntu should just pick the network settings automatically with no issues. Infact, it works even behind a firewall.
