私のところでも unattended-upgrades を仕込んでおいた 10.04 LTS server で
一斉に止まってしまいました。ユーザに影響があるものには入れていませんで
したが、台数があるのでチェックが大変でした。

  sudo service cron restart

でとりあえずは復帰したように見えます。
