la configurazione di xsane si trova nella cartella .sane
puoi provare a levarla per vedere se torna a funzionare
mv ~/.sane ~/.sane.orig

per ripristinare il contrario
mv ~/.sane.orig ~/.sane

altrimenti usare hplip oppure flegita o iscan
