Sul mio portatile HP Pavilion ho un Modem: ATI Technologies Inc SB400
AC'97 Modem Controller (rev 02). Su 8.04 ho installato il driver fornito
dallo stesso sistema operativo nei Driver Hardware.

gnome-ppp me lo individua come ttySL0, come si vede da questo report da
terminale:

Ho installato efax-gtk, e ho settato il modem come ttySL0, nella stringa
di inizializzazione ho messo quella che ho sempre usato da una vita con
i modem per il fax, cioe': &F &C1 &D2 X3, e ho lanciato l'invio fax di
un file in formato postscript, ma il risultato e' questo (il numero
telefonico per privacy e' XXXXXXXXXXXX...:

Avete un'idea di che cosa devo cambiare nei settaggi perche' questo
benedetto modem mi risolva l'unica cosa che ancora non riesco a fare con
Ubuntu, cioe' i fax?

In alternativa, qualcuno sa dirmi se esistono modem-fax usb compatibili
con Ubuntu?
