Ho installato ubuntu 8.10 una prima volta dal dvd scaricato da internet
e poi una seconda volta usando una distribuzione del'Itis Majorana di
Gela perchè quest'ultima distro installa OOo 3.0 in italiano, google
earth e alcuni altri programmi interessanti come skype.
L'installazione è stata fatta su un hd connesso al portatile tramite una
porta usb con l'unica accortezza, durante l'installazione di Ubuntu
8.10, nelle opzioni del programma di partizionamento, di indicare
appunto questo hd collegato alla porta usb, come disco sul quale
installare grub, per non sovrascrivere il mbr di windows sull'hd interno
dal quale fa boot il portatile se non vede l'hd usb.
Con una piccola modifica al file menu.lst di grub, mediata dall'utility
Super Grub, portandomi appresso solo l'hd, praticamente ho a
disposizione il mio sistema su qualunque computer al quale posso
accedere che faccia il boot da una porta usb.
Per ora l'unico problema si è manifestato con google earth che non
riconosce la scheda video anche se con il test dell'hardware sembra
tutto a posto.
Di seguito ti incollo il contenuto del file menu.lst di grub come l'ho
modificato.
