[ubuntu-it] problema frequenza di refresh monitor esterno... urgente

ciao a tutti,
domani devo fare una presentazione con il notebook, il problema e` che
quando collego il proiettore al portatile l'immagine che viene proiettata
sfarfalla, cioe` e` sfuocata e vibra... penso che sia un problema dovuto
alla frequenza di refresh del monitor... pero` non riesco ad posso
impostarla: l'unico valore che posso selezionare e` 60 Hz. Posso agire in
qualche modo sul file xorg.conf ?

vi prego datemi qualche input. Ho un Acer con un Ati x600. Non ho i driver
proprietari della scheda grafica, ho solo quello generico di ubuntu e vorrei
evitare di installarli.  allego il mio file xorg.conf
