[ubuntu-it] installing acpi 0.11

Can anybody help me updating acpi to 0.11, something like a step-by-step 
instruction?
I've tried downloading source, unpacking and launching make command, but i got 
this error:

make -C /lib/modules/2.6.10-5-386/build 
SUBDIRS=/home/ale/downloads/ibm-acpi/ibm-acpi-0.11 modules
make: *** /lib/modules/2.6.10-5-386/build: No such file or directory.  Stop.
make: *** [default] Error 2


please help me, I'm quite a newbie.
