Asking to become an OP in an IRC channel dedicated to a LOCO team

I'm the LOCO contact for the (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/CatalanTeam) and
we held our meetings and give support at the #ubuntu-cat channel of
IRC, now in Libera Chat.

Since the move to Libera we don't have any OP in the channel. We need
to have an OP to rebuild a bridge to Matrix, for instance, and also to
post welcome messages and such.

Is there any way that one can apply, and get response, to become an OP
of such a channel?
