as with ubuntu, its more about the phone you have supporting ubuntu's phone
OS.. nothing about ubuntu will prevent ubuntu from running on your phone.
try https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Devices and consider asking samsung or
your carrier to facilitate this for you..
