Great to hear that you want to become part of our community and make
Ubuntu even better! There are many way to do so, ranging from helping
other users to documentation to community management duties, all the
way to hardcore coding efforts. Everyone has a place in Ubuntu.

For general information about taking part, see
http://www.ubuntu.com/community . You might also find that your local
community either is very active and you'll easy find a place there, or
you might perhaps make it more active and efficient:

If you've been using the Ubuntu IRC channels for a long time and know
how they work, you can apply to become an operator. Before you do,
it's good to know how the Ubuntu IRC Team is organized:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/IRC/IrcTeam . Instructions to apply to work as
an operator can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/IRC/IrcTeam/OperatorRequirements
