Melissa, I don't see any "panic".
But surely, more than one op retiring for the same or similar reasons is a good
enough reason for concern?
Off the top of my head:-
Myself,
Hobbsee,
ompaul,
nixternal,
LjL.
Seveas
All of these have either a) posted on ubuntu-irc at lists.ubuntu.com regarding
their concerns while leaving, or b) responded to this or my blog post with their
affirmation regarding their reasons for leaving.
I've had numerous PMs and emails supporting what I've said. It's saddening to
see that these people don't feel able to voice their opinions publically though,
and I hope that that's not out of fear of "retribution" (which is partly the
reason I stepped down at the same time as airing these issues).
The thing that worries me most however, is the fact that there are quite
obviously people having issues similar to mine, and yet the IRC Council seem to
be dismissing this out of hand, as it's not an issue that is as clean cut as
"Foo did X, which was wrong".
