How to add kernel module to the installer environment?

Hello,

I have created a customized (alternate) CD based on karmic, where I
preseed most of the d-i questions. Now I would like to add a kernel
module (8021q.ko) to the installer environment. This module is part of
in the linux-image-2.6.31-14-generic package, which is also included
on the karmic alternate install CD.

So how do I manage to load this module so that it is available in the
installer environment? Can I simply "anna-install linux-image-generic"
or something? Any hints?
