This is not true; please don't repeat it. See
https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-installer, which says
correctly:

  Discussions regarding maintenance and development of the Ubuntu
  installation systems, both d-i (the full-screen text installer used on
  the alternate install CD) and Ubiquity (the graphical installer used
  on the desktop CD).
