Error during Install

Hi - I am a Newbie at Linux but an old hand at Computing in both Dos and W**dows.

I use 6.10 to try an Install on my Portable- DVD but no floppy.

I halted with a message saying No root specified with an amber triangle and I could get no further.

I ried all the otions I could seebut no progress or other errors.
