Probably the issue is of RAM, one should have at least 3-4 GB RAM to

I dont know about Google Earth because i do not use it, but you DONT
need 3-4GB RAM to run 64bit. I have used 64bit Opensuse and 64bit
Ubuntu all along with just 512MB RAM. Its only last year that I
switched to 2GB RAM. My logic is simple - If your processor is 64 bit
then its best to use 64bit OS. From what i know a 64bit OS will run a
32 bit app. I dont know how that can be done in Ubuntu, but think it
can be done.<br>

You have to install 32bit library <br>

If you have 64bit supported hardware then you should ( again ....should
) go with 64bit OSs <br>

I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and Fedora 13 dual-boot ( both 64bit ) and
runs fine on my Dell Inspiron 1564 core i5 processor, 4Gb DDR RAM , 1GB
ATI Graphics cared <br>
