What Narendra Diwate says correct. In case winXp crashed automatically ubuntu is also crashed,
So re-installing winxp from scratch and ubuntu have to done. However for ubuntu by using recovery CD it can be restored after installing winxp- this aspect have to be checked with ubuntu forum Knowing this I have done taking risk Wubi exe is for newbie to linux users. Anyway there is always risk in all methods. you have decide yourself based on merits of the issue (advantage and disadavantage) For your information I had upgraded within 9.04 to 10.04 - Upgrade software of ubuntu.
>other question is that will i be able to fix Hindi or other language
>typing system in Ubuntu if it is a part of windows ? NO Once installed ubuntu it will be independent for all purpose on par as if installed thro CD. Why i have done is - partition is problem for me is head-ache.

If the method of partition made in Xandraos 4.1(trail version) is adopted for ubuntu also - it would have more helpful because during partition time, one can view the files of each partition in Xandros by using browsing button in the partition tool table to avoid loss of data of winxp etc.- before starting write to disk.

"Since you hve windows I think using wubi.exe of ubuntu can be
installed as part of windows software.
I have installed ubuntu thro' WinxP works fine.Installed ubuntu will
appear in the file of ADD/Remove of WinxP
If you want to uninstall uubuntu - you to go to windows "Add/remove"
similar to other exe files of Windows."

I think I had responded to the same query with a request to read up n Wubi article on Wikipedia. That would have given you an idea of what a Wubi install does. It just install Ubuntu as a part of Windows and allows dual boot. This is not necessarily the best way, but if you want it this way, then who a i to stop you. Pl go ahead. But pl do go thru the requirements, advantages and disadvatages of a Wubi install as against a regular partitioned dual boot install.

You need to download the ubuntu desktop iso and write to a CD. then run Wubu from the Cd in Windows and you are done.
