I have a lappy with xp and karmic dual boot.Everything worked fine till today. > when i tried graphical login today, it again showed the same login screen showing an error(Power manager not installed....) >Now I tried for tty1 and login there and did "sudo shutdown 0" and an maintainance screen comes with en error "cannot access PID for nmbd file" >so please some one help and let me know what is the reason behind it. >i did google about it and some suggest for samba and i installed it too in vain.
