Hi I think one of the most frequent needs for computer people (esp those who are supposed to be better than others) is to help recover data from accidental deletion, crashed hard disks, virus infections (if the computers are the "wincing" ones) So from experience from own and other data recovery, Use testdisk and for camera data cards photorec. These are small programmes - and command line. And they work well of Live CD's So install this and learn how to use it - experiment on a thumbdrive (delete some pictures _ of course after backing them up) and try to recover them. Its fun and also a good addition to your computer repertoire. ram
