Hi Folks,

I tried installing Ubuntu 9.04 on one my freind's new compaq laptop [Model: Presario CQ40-330TU].
Installation was successful without any hiccups. Except sound everything seems to be working fine at first place.

I tried many of the workarounds suggested in Ubuntu forumsto fix this sound issue. But none of them are solving mine problem.
Please help me in fixing this sound issue.

On all new installations the volume will be so less that it cannot be heard when you play some media, right click on volume button --> open volume control --> increase front and volume, hopefully fix the problem.
