I am on lookout to buy a laptop which would run ubuntu<br>

The problem with the compaq one is it comes with Vista Premium, other<br>
than that the specs look cool.<br>

</blockquote><div><br>How about the Dell Inspiron 1525 or Dell XPS 1550(or 1350) or Dell Studio.<br>IIRC, these laptops had an option for Ubuntu pre-installed.<br>I'm not sure if they fall in your budget, but you should definitely check them out at Dell's Indian store.<br>
