[ubuntu-in] Out of control fan on Thinkpad x 220

Hi

The fan on my x220 seems to be out of control - it starts up and stays at
high rev through out

any idea how to control this

have installed lm-sensors and fancontrol and thinkfan - but it seems they
need a config file ??

would be grateful for the help

not just the noise but the vibrations are quite unnerving
