[ubuntu-in] Importing RAW images without the embedded JPEG

Hi

Am trying to import RAW images (Taken in raw without jpeg) but when I try
and import using digikam or shotwell it seems to create a RAW + jpeg.

Any idea how to import just RAW. The additional jpeg are of no use as
digikam is capable of showing the RAW images and these extra files jusr
occupy space.

Am using a NIKON DSLR
