[ubuntu-in] mysql database files

Hi all,
yesterday I formated my / partition. before formating I just copied the
content of /var/lib/mysql (instead of backing up databases using mysqldump).
after instating Ubuntu again I reinstalled apache. mysql and php. and I
copied the backed up files and folder of /var/lib/mysql to same place and I
have set proper owner and group (mysql:mqsql) still I am unable to access
my tables from databases. I can just list my all databases and tables.
what I should do now to view table?
