The DVDs are targeted mainly for graphics/animation artists who want
to explore blender. The DVDs not only include the movie (in HD
formats) but also all the source material used to create the movie,
various tutorials and sound tracks.

And those who pre-ordered the DVDs get their name mentioned in end
title credits. :-)
