Hi
was wondering if there was any open source software - that can work offline and
help document the web of life or the lifeforms in their various categorizations
What i am looking for is some what like what is being implemented on the
following websites.
Tree of Life
http://tolweb.org/tree/
and
Encylopedia of Life
http://www.eol.org
There, of course, would be many variables , so am interesting in knowing if
such software is available and what all it is capable off. What would be of
interest is the possibility to change / tweak it (as software released open
source licenses usually are).
My current search has not lead to anything conclusive (read really
usable) but the links are posted below
m not sure what this is ??
http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/lucid/man3/Bio::Taxonomy.3pm.html#toptoc5
Birds
http://j-bird.sourceforge.net/
One tool / resource i cannot figure out
http://www.itis.gov/tools.html
not sure what license this is under
