[ubuntu-in] How best to clear Var apt cache

I had registered at Ubuntu Community web forum ...they have sent me CD,

Still there is problem in installing ubuntu 10.4 on a Nvidia chip set board
( Display )..... tried to solve it still hangs after few hours of logging
...

is there any permanent solution.. give me help
