[ubuntu-in] installing firefox 3.6.6 on ubuntu 9.04

[Linux Lingam]

am thinking of installing firefox 3.6.6. under ubuntu 9.04.
anyone done that? is there a howto?
is there a better way to do it so the system auto-checks for updates
and suggests i install them later?
more importantly, will firefox 3.6.6. break something?
have already read it will make my plug-ins and add-ons unusable,
especially those much-needed ad-blockers.
will my system become unstable, or misbehave,
will my otherwise productive hours be spent
in panic-mode fighting a disintegrating system?
will things go teetering to the edge of chaos?
will 3.6.6. spell doom to my otherwise lovely 9.04?
will my faith in the robustness of foss be shaken? again?
