just remove quiet splash from the grub stanza like following [1]
default [2] after changes
[1]linux /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.32-21-generic
root=UUID=0ef7dace-ef25-4e57-814b-fd2523a8c11a ro vga=769 quiet splash
[2] linux /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.32-21-generic
root=UUID=0ef7dace-ef25-4e57-814b-fd2523a8c11a ro vga=769
