I will not be able to give you direct answers because I've not yet
started fiddling with my configuration, but would like you to check out
the link below [0]. It gives a fairly good idea of grub2 config.

Btw, are you sure you have 10.04 installed and not 10.10 because my
updated 10.04 system has 2.6.32 kernel and also the website says 2.6.34
is for 10.10 alpha1 version.
