Dear All,

Thanks for all your suggestions. I downloaded the tar.bz, unpacked,
and launched 'firefox'. It works smoothly, it updated some of my
plug-ins, though in one experience flash did seem to be a problem,
behaving strangely with a video-clip, so +1 to stevejobs for giving
adobe a kick on its butt, and +1 to html5 for its re-think of video as
a page too.

i still have the earlier version of firefox installed too. Both seem
to co-exist peacefully for the moment, like queens in the harem of
emperor akbar.

Thank Onkar for the heads-up on the repo. Will enable and use that
when it arrives.

on another note, had installed chrome about a year ago, but found it a
tad clumsy with privacy, as well as with its features and interface.
What are your experiences with chrome vs firefox?

thanks

regards
niyam
