[ubuntu-in] question about Localhost- Var/www

*Dear*
I use the joomla and other source software for designing the website, i need
the localhost for demo and practice. i was able to install Wamp on Xp, but
nowaday i use the linux, already i use it but i reinstalled the linux and
all software remove. i used the Package management and install Phpmyadmin -
SQL -  Apach - and some other. but it showing some error ( when we want add
password for the phpmyadmin- SQL) actually i forgot the Number of Error.

I know that these info is so less but i hope that it can use and help but I
will try and give the exact error.

Note: I use the UBUNTU ver 9.10
