[ubuntu-in] Fwd: Error While Booting Ubuntu 9.10 (org: Linux help )

Hi Friends,

A friend of mine is running Ubuntu 9.10 (Ultimate 2.4) on his HP DV 5
Series laptop.

Grub for Ubuntu does not work - neither recovery nor normal option
Below is an error he is getting while booting up - , it is dual booted
with Wincedows 7

We need your advice.

Am also asking hem to get onto the list.

Gave up waiting for root device. Common problems:

-Boot args (cat/proc/cmdline)

 -check rootdelay=. (did the system waite long enough?)

-missing modules (cat/proc/modules; 1s/dev)

Alert!/dev/disk/by-uuid/697e2545-7c45-4bde-ae13-b4b7199e2dc2 does not
exist. Droppings to a shell!

BusyBox va.13.3 (Ubuntu 1:1.13-1ubuntu7) built-in shell (ash)

Enter ‘help’for a list of built-in commands
