suranjan,

Did you connect your LAN cable/wifi and then open a dialog window where 
you had to enter your username and password. When you hit OK, then it 
says in this order
* Opening WAN Miniport
* Checking username and password
* Registering on the network

and then minimizes to the system tray?

If this is the case, then tell me, you need to use pppoeconf for setting 
up your system.
