[ubuntu-in] which graphics card to buy

Hi,

I am about to purchase an AMD based computer, probably Phenom processor, 
and the ASUS motherboard has an NVIDIA graphics card built in, so I may 
buy an ATI graphics card with 3D capabilities. I am looking for a card 
in the price range of 2500 to 3000. Can anyone suggest? I was offered 
the HD2600 and can not find if it is supported by their driver or by 
Ubuntu Hardy.

I intend to use it with Hardy as the main operating system.
