[ubuntu-in] Problem with firefox on Ubuntu 9.04

Hi

Running 9.04 with kernal 2.6.28-13-generic

and firefox version 3.5.1

there seems to be a problem with displaying any of the websites that
provide email

gmail, yahoo, rediff as well as other websites like times of india, google news

when i open these sites all i get is a page with a few horizontal and
vertical lines some icons and thats it -

other websites are opening fine

like Ubuntuforums, bbcnews,

so whats wrong

I have taken some screen shots but don't know how to post them ??
