[ubuntu-in] 9.04 collapsing in a heap after updates

Further problems

tried installing Koffice so that i could get on with life and work and now i
get some more errors

When i try and reopen synaptic i get

E: Unable to write mmap - msync (28 No space left on device)
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

When i try and open koffice or some related app
$ karbon
ICE Connection rejected!
